As the new Marketing and Admissions Coordinator for Heritage Christian School, Marlene brings a variety of experience in sales and marketing both in the corporate and private sector. Marlene has over 25 years of experience as a territory representative, over 10 years of experience in the advertising, public relations and marketing environment and over 35 years of experience volunteering at her church in both women’s and youth ministries. Her volunteer experience at her church includes teaching women’s Bible studies, coordinating women’s retreats, conferences and other events as well as participation in their Mom to Mom program. Her volunteer experience in youth ministries includes setting up events, mentoring students, leading small groups and coordinating the food, and cooking for week long summer camps for up to 350 students. Marlene views her new opportunity at Heritage as a way “to further use my gifts to promote family values and Christian Education to glorify God and impact the world for Him. I am thrilled to be here.”
Marlene and her husband Bob have lived in their current home in Hillsboro for over 30 years. They have two married sons. Rob and Tara live in Beaverton and have graced Marlene and Bob with two grandsons, Jacob 2-1/2 and Samuel, 4 months. Rich and Melanie live in Vancouver and have plans to move back to Washington County next summer to be nearer to their families and “hopefully start one of their own.”
In her spare time Marlene enjoys being “Oma” to Jake and Sam as well as reading, making jewelry and driving Miss Daisy, her Honda Scooter through the back roads of Hillsboro. Look for her scooter as the weather gets warmer.
