Mrs. Mathison teaches logic level earth science, physical science, and upper logic/high school Latin. Her education credentials include a Bachelors degree in education from Concordia University and a Master's Degree in Education, with an emphasis on language acquisition, from Western Oregon University. She has been teaching 5th-8th graders for ten years, four of which have been at Heritage.
Mrs. Mathison has been married for three years and has two daughters, Ellie, who is 2 years old, and Zephie, who is three months old. Her hobbies include triathlons, marathons, jazz music, traveling, family time and crossword puzzles. She has always approached education from a Classical standpoint and feels it's a natural fit for her to teach at a Classical school. According to Mrs. Mathison, "Everything works together perfectly in context with this perspective. I have been called to teach at Heritage to serve God using my talents through the Classical method with an emphasis on Christian worldview."
